I worked with Sam at Davis for around 15 years.
I don't Know if you remember me but we met at Hector's wedding. Sam helped me get through the days. We always got to work early and parked next to each other. He would have his chocolate doughnut and scrape the chocolate off the top. I asked him why he didn't just buy a doughnut chocolate on it. I know that he love to cook and he loves his family he talked about you guys all the time. He will forever be missed even though I haven't talk to him in a long time he has always been on my mind.
One more thing. He knew every fact about every Beatles song we have ever heard. He was a book of knowledge and we will never forget him.

I met Sam way back in the early 70's at Park View School in Lombard. He was a wonderful friend. I loved going to his house. If memory serves, his mom was always cooking something amazing. They used to have fun with me by speaking Italian to each other knowing I had no idea what they were saying. Though we hadn't seen each other since I moved to Oregon in 1978 I have nothing but fond memories of Sam.

Sam,
23 years was not long enough. I have changed our vows from "until death do us part" to "all eternity" as your love, loyalty, and kindness left an impression on me that will last forever. It turns out you are the tough one to get over. Your battle was short but hard. Throughout your journey you kept your fighting, competitive spirit. No matter what procedure or hospital stay you needed, you always said "this is what I have to do to get better". Up until your final day you continued to fight your battle as you were determined not to lose. You truly gave everything you had until you had nothing left to give. Although you are physically not here, you have not lost, you are finally better. My broken heart will never heal, but I am at peace knowing that you are no longer suffering. Enjoy your "sleepy time" "TTUL XXOO"

Mrs Nudo, John Lee ,Carmela, Vanna, and Micheal, I'm so sorry for your loss. Sam and I started out as neighbors in fifth grade, and although he moved away, we somehow reconnected again in high school and became friends and through it all we spent the last 20 years working together for the same company. I will miss him. I will miss our spirited sports talks. Usually taking different sides and agreeing to disagree. I can only hope that Larry is waiting for him. To welcome him with a big hug. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Love , Vito Gialo and family.
